Diyaluma is Sri Lanka’s second tallest waterfall, plunging over 220 meters. Located about an hour from Ella, it ultimately rewards travelers with natural infinity pools at the top and breathtaking views of the Badulla highlands.

After a tuk‑tuk ride through tea plantations, a short trek then brings you to cascading tiers where you can swim, relax, and finally marvel at nature’s grandeur.

Perched at 1,970 meters, Lipton’s Seat offers panoramic views across multiple provinces. Originally, this was Sir Thomas Lipton’s favorite lookout over his tea empire.

Today, visitors can reach it via Haputale and the Dambatenne Tea Factory, where they enjoy sweeping vistas of valleys and plantations. On clear days, you can even glimpse Sri Lanka’s southern coast in the distance.

The hike to Ella Rock is a 10 km adventure that winds through train tracks, eucalyptus forests, and misty hills.

While it is challenging, the summit ultimately rewards you with jaw‑dropping views of Ella Gap and the surrounding valleys.

Therefore, it’s best started early in the morning. Additionally, while guides are optional, the trail can be confusing, so preparation is absolutely key.

This short, well‑marked hike is one of Ella’s most accessible adventures. Named after the sacred Adam’s Peak, Little Adam’s Peak in turn offers 360‑degree views of tea plantations and rolling hills.

The trek takes less than an hour, consequently making it perfect for sunrise or sunset. Ultimately, it’s a favorite among travelers for its remarkable beauty and ease.

Steeped in legend, Ravana Cave is famously said to be where King Ravana hid Princess Sita during the Ramayana.

Located just 2 km from Ella, the cave itself sits at 1,370 meters above sea level. To reach the entrance, visitors then climb a series of stone steps, where myth and history ultimately intertwine with sweeping views of the surrounding hills.

Just a short drive from Ella town, Ravana Falls is a 25‑meter cascade framed by lush greenery. As a result, it’s one of the most popular waterfalls in the region, which is easily accessible by tuk‑tuk or bus.

The falls are perfect for photography, a refreshing dip, or simply soaking in the atmosphere of this legendary site.
