1. General Policy

All bookings made with Friendly Tours Lanka are subject to availability and confirmation. By confirming a booking, you agree to comply with our refund and cancellation terms stated below.

Refunds may apply in certain cases of cancellations or changes made in accordance with our policy. Each case will be handled fairly, taking into account the specific terms of the tour or service booked.


2. Cancellations by the Traveler

If you wish to cancel your tour booking, you must notify us in writing via email at Friendlytt.lk@gmail.com.
Refund eligibility depends on the time remaining before the tour start date:

  • 30 days or more before departure: Eligible for up to 90% refund (after deducting administrative and service fees).

  • 15–29 days before departure: Eligible for up to 50% refund.

  • 7–14 days before departure: Eligible for up to 25% refund.

  • Less than 7 days before departure: No refund will be issued.

Please note that certain prepaid or non-refundable services (such as hotel bookings, airline tickets, and entry permits) may have stricter conditions depending on the supplier’s policy.


3. Cancellations by Friendly Tours Lanka

We reserve the right to cancel a tour due to unforeseen circumstances, such as natural disasters, government restrictions, insufficient participation, or safety concerns.
In such cases, you will receive one of the following options:

  • A full refund of the amount paid, or

  • The option to reschedule or transfer your booking to another available tour date.

Friendly Tours Lanka will not be liable for additional expenses incurred by travelers (such as visa fees, insurance, or personal costs).


4. Refunds for Travel Service Changes

If a booked service (hotel, transportation, or excursion) becomes unavailable due to operational reasons, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative of equal or higher value.
If a suitable alternative is not available, a partial refund may be issued for the affected portion of the trip.


5. Non-Refundable Bookings

The following types of bookings or payments are non-refundable:

  • Deposits paid to confirm reservations.

  • Visa or permit processing fees.

  • Travel insurance premiums.

  • Any services marked as “non-refundable” at the time of booking.


6. Refund Process

Once a cancellation is confirmed, we will process your refund within 7–14 business days.
Refunds will be issued to your original method of payment (unless otherwise agreed).
Please note that banks or payment gateways may take additional time to credit the amount to your account.


7. No-Shows and Early Departures

No refunds will be issued for:

  • Failure to arrive on the scheduled start date (“no-show”).

  • Early departure or unused portions of a tour due to personal reasons.


8. Force Majeure

In cases of unavoidable events beyond our control — such as natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, or government travel bans — refunds may be subject to third-party supplier policies. We will make every effort to offer flexible rescheduling or partial refunds where possible.
